“Tränen passen nicht zu dir” („Tears do not stick to you “), “Ave Maria der Berge” („Ave Maria from the mountains“), “Schatten übern Rosenhof” („Shadows over the Rosenhof”) or “Das Mädchen mit den erloschenen Augen” (“The girl with the dull eyes”): folk music fans love the hits of the Kastelruther Spatzen. The musicians around singer Norbert Rier have been honoured with countless music awards and are among the most successful folk music groups of all time.
Despite their success and busy schedules, there is one thing the Kastelruther musicians never give up: twice a year, they invite people to concerts in their homeland. In June, the Kastelruther Spatzen Open Air takes place in Siusi/Seis. Many thousands of fans then come to us in the Sciliar area to enjoy the marvellous open-air setting and experience the Spatzen live.
Four months later, in October, the big Spatzenfest in Castelrotto follows. For three days, the singing sparrows invite you to the large marquee for a morning pint, autograph sessions and concerts. Within walking distance of our farm, you can celebrate, sway and sing along in the large marquee.
In December, on the other hand, the Kastelruther Spatzen conjure up a contemplative Christmas atmosphere at their Christmas concert. In the festively decorated tennis hall in Telfen/Castelrotto, the Spatzen sing the most beautiful Christmas carols and Norbert Rier reads Christmas stories, accompanied by impressive videos.
The Kastelruther Spatzen museum is also just a few steps away. Here you can admire souvenirs and trophies, records and awards or the diamond trophy for 15 million records sold in 2008.
